The purpose of Emerging Technology in the UAB Libraries is to align technology-related library activities with the pillars of the UAB strategic plan by fostering opportunities for interdisciplinary innovation; seeking out opportunities to integrate emerging technologies in library operations; support the development of technology, data, and information literacy; and provide opportunities for technology-focused experiential learning; personal, and professional development for students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders in the university community.

The development of the UAB Libraries Technology Labs falls under Emerging Technology in the UAB Libraries. We aim to foster an inclusive technology-positive environment welcoming to individuals from all academic disciplines, knowledge levels, and backgrounds.
