The LibLab in Sterne Library (formerly the UAB Makerspace) is a technology-focused library space that provides access to virtual reality headsets, Raspberry Pi kits, computer workstations with applications from the Adobe Creative Cloud, cameras, and other technology tools that can be used for media creation, multimodal argument and digital literacy, digital humanities and internet of things (IOT) projects.

In 2021, the UAB Libraries received a donation from Adobe to enable the purchase of new computer workstations, tablets, and other technology optimized for use with products from the Adobe Creative Cloud. The libraries are in the process of selecting and adding this equipment to the available items in the LibLab.

The LibLab is staffed and assistance using the technology will be provided as needed. Workstations may be reserved using our online system and drop-in use during operating hours is also welcome.

Please complete this consultation form if you are interested in integrating a technology or tool available in the LibLab in an academic activity, a professional development session, or another UAB-related activity.

Check the Library Technology Labs research guide or visit our technology collections page for information on available technology equipment that can be borrowed from the LibLab and UAB Libraries.
